Whatever the age, interests, or abilities, our residents can enjoy pastimes that make them laugh, lose track of time, or feel like a kid at heart.

Food

What is on the menu this week?

At the Napier Masonic Trust our focus is on a seasonal menu, prepared fresh on site using healthy and tasty meal options for our aged care residents.

Activities

Hair and Beauty salon

Book in and be pampered in our newly fitted out beauty salon in the Taradale Masonic Village. We believe you deserve to have a good hair day every day – it’s part of our ‘love, respect and care’ approach to retirement living.

Activities

Van outings

Shopping excursions for the village residents, and picnics, events, and scenic drives are a few of the fun outings for everyone.

Activities

Friday at Happy Hour

The week wouldn’t seem complete without Friday Happy Hour giving residents an opportunity to socialise and catch-up with family and friends.

Activities

Cycling with Out Age

Cycling With Out Age visit weekly with their trio cycle and pick up passengers for a gentle spin around town “to feel the wind in their hair” and connect with their local community.

Activities

Daily activities

Each week residents enjoy a daily activity and exercise programme that has been developed by our Diversional Therapist. Listening and dancing to music we know, and love and bowls are firm favourites whilst housie and quizzes bring out the competitive side.

Activities

Bowls

Bowls is enormous fun and a great social activity.  It also provides many health benefits as it is a low-impact, therapeutic exercise that can improve fitness, coordination and confidence.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What levels of care do you offer?

We offer a continuum of care from independent living in our villages, to rest home and hospital level care in the Taradale Masonic Rest Home & Continuing Care. Our Elmwood Memory Care Home & Hospital provides hospital level care and an additional Stage 3 Dementia Unit.

Are there set visiting hours for residents in the care centre?

There are no set visiting hours. This is your home, so visitors are welcome any time. The amenities are available for you to enjoy with your friends and family. We just ask that you respect the privacy of other residents.

What happens if I’m a resident and need care and the rest home is full?

If there isn’t a current vacancy in the rest home and you are able to remain in your home, then your services provider will continue to support you until a bed becomes available.  If you require more support than your service provider can give, please contact our Clinical Services Manager for further discussion.

Where to begin guide. If you or a loved one requires care

Many of us will be unsure about where to begin when the time comes where care is needed.  Follow our guide. Where To Begin Guide

Who do I talk to if I’m worried about something?

We want you to love living in your village. If you have a concern, please raise the matter with one of our team members or the Village Manager. If the matter is serious, we have a formal complaints procedure. We also hold regular meetings with residents to talk through any issues. You’re welcome to attend.
